These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Permitify LLC ("Permitify", "we", "us"). They cover your use of our website at permitify.ai, our web app at app.permitify.ai, and the Permitify connector for Claude (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for a company or firm, you agree on its behalf and confirm you have authority to do so.
1. What Permitify does
Permitify helps architects, contractors and other building professionals research permit requirements and prepare permit applications. You describe a project, Permitify identifies the jurisdiction, researches the permit process using official sources, and creates a draft project that your team can work on in a shared workspace.
The Service is in an early, pilot stage. Coverage is limited to the jurisdictions and permit types we list on our website, and features may change as we improve the product.
2. Not professional advice
Permitify provides research and organizing tools. It is not a law firm, engineering firm, architect, or government agency, and it does not provide legal, engineering, architectural, or code-compliance advice.
- You are responsible for your project. Requirements, fees, forms and review processes are set by the permitting authority and can change at any time. Always confirm requirements with the authority having jurisdiction before you apply or build.
- We do not file permits for you. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you submit applications to the permitting authority yourself.
- Structural design is excluded. Permitify does not perform structural sizing, calculations, or design. Have a qualified professional review any design before construction.
3. Accounts and workspaces
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You agree to give accurate account information and to keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity in your account and in workspaces you administer, including the actions of people you invite. Tell us promptly at support.permitify@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Your content
"Your Content" means the information and files you or your team put into the Service, such as project descriptions, property addresses, documents, drawings, and messages. You keep all rights in Your Content.
You give us a limited license to host, copy, process, and display Your Content only as needed to provide, secure, and improve the Service for you. You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload Your Content and that it does not violate anyone else's rights or the law.
5. AI-generated output
The Service uses artificial intelligence to research and summarize permit information. AI output can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, even when it cites a source. Review all output, check the cited sources, and use your professional judgment before relying on it. As between you and us, you may use the output we generate for you for your projects.
6. Third-party services and sources
The Service links to and relies on third-party websites and services, including government permitting portals and public map data, sign-in providers such as Google, and AI assistants such as Claude when you use our connector. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any law or to submit false information to a permitting authority;
- upload content you do not have the right to share, or that is unlawful or harmful;
- try to access accounts, workspaces, or data that are not yours;
- interfere with, overload, or try to break the security of the Service;
- scrape, copy, or resell the Service or its output at scale, or use it to build a competing product; or
- reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it.
We may suspend or limit access if we reasonably believe you have broken these rules.
8. Trials, plans, and payment
Some plans start with a free trial. Trial length and limits are shown when you sign up. When a trial ends, paid features pause until you choose a paid plan, and your projects remain available to view and export.
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis until cancelled. Prices are shown on our website or in your order. You authorize us and our payment processor to charge the payment method on file. Fees do not include taxes, which you are responsible for. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before a price change takes effect for your plan.
9. Cancellation and termination
You can cancel your paid plan at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. If we discontinue the Service, we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export Your Content.
10. Our intellectual property
We own the Service, including its software, design, and branding. These Terms do not give you any rights to them except the right to use the Service as described here. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY PERMIT WILL BE APPROVED OR ISSUED ON ANY TIMELINE.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PERMITIFY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR PROJECT DELAYS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
13. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify Permitify against third-party claims arising from Your Content, your projects, or your breach of these Terms or the law, and pay resulting damages and reasonable costs.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the Service before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
